I investigated how Amazon warehouses use digital Taylorism to improve operational efficiency. I evaluated these efficiency gains through labour productivity, lean production, and financial performance. I also examined the impact of digital Taylorism on workers through Self-Determination Theory, industrial relations, and labour turnover. I evaluated Amazon’s warehouse management practices from multiple stakeholder perspectives and assessed the trade-off between short-term productivity and long-term sustainability.
I explored the challenges of chopstick use for people with Parkinson’s disease who experience hand tremors, reduced grip strength, and limited fine motor control. I conducted both primary research, including interviews and anthropometric measurements, and secondary research using academic journal articles. Based on these findings, I created a persona that presents the user’s profile, goals, pain points, and preferences, as well as an empathy map to better understand the user’s needs and wants in dining contexts.
